STRUCTURE
The Dimensions of Leadership program is structured around
four primary components:
1. A personal facilitator, who you meet with regularly over a
twelve month period. You will have contact details for any
questions or discussion you feel you want to involve them in.
2. Texts for reflection and analysis.
3. Activities between meetings.
4. Plans of action with monitoring and benchmarking where
applicable.
FUNCTIONS OF THE READINGS AND PLANS
•To give you knowledge. The program is designed specifically to
help you understand your potential and how to use it
effectively.
•To revive knowledge that you already possess. Place it within a
management system so that you can apply it where and when
appropriate. Therefore some of what is taught will seem ‘obvious’,
however experience teaches us that you will best benefit when your
knowledge is linked to a process and you understand how to work
it.
•To create a clearer inner picture of yourself. In order to take
a look at yourself, you need a ‘mirror’ that functions outside of
yourself. These lessons and exercises act as an external mirror
providing you with a clear picture of your inner self, who you are
and how you function. You will see where change may be
applicable.
•To assist you to reflect. Each lesson includes questions that
have no right or wrong answers. They are tools for reflection.
These questions and answers are discussed with your leadership
instructor as you progress through the program.
•To provide you with tools. Together you and your leadership
instructor will identify what works for you and where adjustments
are required . Your plan of action emerges when you write down your
goals.
•To engage your participation in set exercises designed to
develop habits and routines to achieve your objectives.
WHY MEET?
Regular pre-planned meetings support the activity required to
progress in the program and provide the motivation through
accountability to achieve your desired outcomes. By meeting at
pre-determined intervals you are able to process, digest and learn
to apply the dimensions that you are reflecting upon. An attempt to
go through the program faster would result ultimately in failure to
experience the full benefits that the program provides.
Think of it like a physical fitness training program with
customised exercises created by a personal trainer specifically for
you. When you participate in the set exercises you develop and
achieve your objectives. As you step through the program your coach
ensures your timely progress to the higher level.
Between meetings you are required to exercise your mental
fitness, strength and habits. This will prepare you for the next
session.
